Administrator, Yardi

 

SUMMARY

Ballast Investments (“Ballast” or “The Company”) is seeking an Administrator, Yardi to support the IT vertical. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Platforms the Administrator, Yardi is responsible for resolving systems-related IT tickets for the whole company and working on special projects to improve the functionality of our Yardi setup.

The Company is a vertically-integrated owner-operator of multifamily, student housing, and single family rental assets in the greater Western United States. The Company has several strategic partnerships with global institutional capital providers and has experienced strong growth since its founding in 2014.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for owning all Tier 1 Yardi related tickets and identifying when tickets need to be escalated to Tier 2
  • Understand how Yardi is used throughout the company
  • Create SOPs and work to build new projects including but not limited to: encouraging engagement in a new IT ticketing system, common Tier 1 resolutions, employee-facing resources, training materials based on recurring tickets, and more
  • Identifying, tracking, and documenting existing and future customizations
  • Identifying and proposing areas for improvement within the current setup, and upholding knowledge of when to escalate issues prior to execution
  • Serve as liaison and coordinate with software vendors, employees, and consultants
  • Audit and streamline existing sets of core data
  • Manage interface vendor and setups, including new property and new user setups
  • Manage permissions and security standards during setup and change requests
  • Participate in discussions regarding segregation of duties
  • Maintain an exceptional level of service while resolving tickets
  • Stay abreast of technological trends, continue developing business knowledge, and expertise
  • Assisting with projects as needed

 

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting Yardi system
  • 3-5 years of experience with Residential module
  • Experience working with IT Ticketing System

 

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage various workloads and pivot as needed
  • Ability to maintain diplomatic approach to identifying and resolving complex interdepartmental problems
  • Uphold a deep knowledge of Yardi implementation best practices for multifamily owner operators
  • Experience in investment accounting is a plus
  • Experience in SQL and vSOL updates and queries is a plus
  • Experience with the following platforms is a plus: Rent Café, CRM, Job Cost, Zendesk, Payscan and Vendor Cafe
