Principal, Architecture & Engineering
Jake oversees design, entitlement and construction management activity across over 100 multi-family assets in the SF Bay Area. Prior to joining Halyard, Jake founded Herczeg Tobias Architects. He holds an Architectural license in California, Texas, Illinois and Florida. He was among the first to adopt San Francisco’s Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) program through which he has created more than 80 new apartments. In addition to multi-family work, Jake has experience in hospitality, education, restaurant and retail projects in and around the SF Bay Area and New York City.
Before relocating to SF, Jake worked in his father's architectural practice, continuing the family business that his grandfather founded. Jake has taught courses in Architecture at the University of San Francisco.
He is a native of Brooklyn and he holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union. Jake lives with his wife and daughter in San Francisco.
